Dave Kinney began performing and recording in punk, rock, blues, and indie rock acts. From the punk/hardcore sounds of, Nice Young Men (Kinney, Kranack, Morton, Linland), to the early indie tones of, the Essentials (Kinney, Morton, A. Cole), the eclectic sound of, Bungalow Decoy (Kinney, McGlamery, Ian, Gola, Craig), took the Blues to Mars with, XY Eli Band (Williams, Kinney, Knotty, Boucher, Starwartz) and the power-pop sound of, Globe Hollow (Lerch, Majewski, Kinney).

DB. KINNEY is a four-piece rock band that has performed since 2018, with Kinney as the remaining catalyst. Starting solo acoustic, followed by an acoustic duo (Kinney & Branden Novak), then three different electric trio line-ups, concluding with (Kinney, Novak, and Declan Chu), transitioning into an electric rock quartet first with (Kinney, Chu, Kevin Fraser, and Jeanine Dell'Orfano) and finally (Kinney, Frasier, Jeff Burke, and Mike Cole). Each new incarnation reflects the band’s continued growth and maturity with notable performances at the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun, Power Ridge Resort, Silk City Music Festival, Hartford's Food Truck Festival, Hartford’s Hartbeat Music Festival, Glastonbury Harvest and Music Festival.

Kinney currently fronts the lineup on vocals and guitar, with bassist Kevin Fraser, drummer Jeff Burke, and lead guitarist/backing vocals Mike Cole. With roots in traditional rock, hints of alternative, and glimmers of pop, DB.KINNEY consistently delivers inspired rock performances with an eclectic set of select rock covers and songs from their two EPs.

Kinney describes his music as "songs that dwell on feelings of loss, love, and life, but with an independent spirit that freely leans in many musical directions."

Remedies, the band's second EP. "The songs were written during a pandemic-induced time of self-reflection and musical evaluation. I needed to strip things back and focus on my musical and personal roots. It's a sincere attempt at being musically honest. Finding some inspiration through my seemingly ineffectual youth," says Kinney. Remedies contains the single, Anna Liza, recorded at Sage Sound Studio in Shelton, CT, Engineered/mixed by Nate Sage and produced by Dave Kinney, performed by Kinney vocals/guitars, Novak on drums, and Chu on bass.

DB.KINNEY's previous single, Out of Daylight, is the Winner of WINI Radio's 2021 Best Songs of the Summer and has gained critical praise. Out of Daylight, was mixed/mastered by S. Lombardi (Pixies, The Damned), produced by Dave Kinney, performed by Kinney vocals/guitars/bass, Novak on drums & percussion.

DB. KINNEY’s first EP, Blind Side Mirror, features guitar, vocals, bass, and keyboards recorded and performed by Kinney. Novak performed and recorded drums & percussion. Novak, mixed and produced all tracks. All tracks mastered by Richard Dodd.

The current 4-piece lineup will record a new single in March 2025 with a Spring 2025 release date.
